H·TOP Pineda Palace
Passeig Maritim 9

H Top Pineda Palace is an all-inclusive budget resort located right across the street from the beach, and within walking distance of the main train station and the city center. Rooms are generic but spacious and bright, and many feature ocean views. There is an average buffet restaurant; a tiny fitness center with a few machines; and a large bar with entertainment. But the highlight here is the rooftop area, which features two pools (one for kids), panoramic ocean and mountain views, and a bar with a small seating area. Just beware of the pesky fees, such as for Wi-Fi, for use of the in-room mini-fridge, and for use of the sauna and whirlpool.

Golden Taurus Aquapark Resort
Passeig Maritim 33

Golden Taurus Park Resort is an upscale, family-friendly chain resort within a short walk of the beach at Pineda de Mar. The 488 modern rooms are pretty, and some have sea-view balconies. The hotel offers several outdoor pools, along with an indoor pool and whirlpool. For the kids, there’s an outdoor playground, a kids’ club, and a miniature zoo. An all-inclusive option is available, and the hotel has a buffet restaurant with a large variety of food, but the restaurant can get busy, which can often mean long lines.

Aqua Hotel Promenade
Passeig Maritim 7

The mid-range Aqua Hotel Promenade is situated across the street from the beach and a block away from the Pineda de Mar train station. The property has an outdoor pool and kids' pool, a buffet-style restaurant, and a pleasant cafe/bar with a stage for evening shows. Families are catered to with a kids' club, while adults enjoy massages and a fitness center. Breakfast is included in room rates, plus half- and full-board plans are available. The 172 contemporary guest rooms have private balconies (many with lovely sea views) plus flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and free Wi-Fi. As an alternative choice, Golden Taurus Park Resort has a mini zoo and both indoor and outdoor pools, but it lacks fitness facilities and in-room Wi-Fi.

Servatur Green Beach
Avenida los Canarios 23

The 232-room Servatur Green Beach is a relaxed, mid-range aparthotel with an upmarket vibe thanks to its modern decor and well-maintained interiors. It’s not near any popular resort towns, but the seafront location and direct beach promenade access are major draws. Apartments are clean, and all have separate bedrooms and living areas, plus west-facing furnished balconies (most with sea views). Wi-Fi is free, but there’s no air conditioning. Outside, there's a heated pool with a poolside bar and ample sun beds. There’s also a rooftop sun deck with a whirlpool, and the decent buffet restaurant offers half- and full-board plans. Live entertainment takes place every evening, and Wi-Fi is free throughout. For an aparthotel that's closer to nightlife, try Servatur Montebello, just keep in mind that it's not nearly as fresh.

Steigenberger Golf & Spa Resort Camp de Mar
Calle Taula 2

This Steigenberger Golf & Spa Resort is a luxury golf resort built in the grand style of a Mediterranean villa with Moorish and Neoclassical touches. Its location means easy access to the Andratx Golf Course -- with golf carts on hand -- while Camp de Mar's pleasant sandy beach is 10 minutes away on foot. Most of the 164 guest rooms were updated in 2016, though those still awaiting a revamp are a little old-fashioned; all open to balconies. Breakfast is included and good quality, and a spacious outdoor pool and deluxe spa complete the picture of an elegant resort hotel. Those less interested in golf and more interested in the beach should consider the more intimate H10 Blue Mar boutique hotel.

Cabau Bahia Camp de Mar Suites
Via Francisca Capllonch Plomer 11

Cabau Bahia Camp de Mar Suites is a relaxed and upscale boutique hotel with a Mediterranean vibe. It’s perched above the ocean and is connected to the beach via a small path and stairs. The property’s 64 Suites are a mix of updated and dated styles, though all include kitchenettes, balconies or terraces, air-conditioning, and sofa beds. There’s a fine-dining restaurant and a buffet restaurant, hot breakfast buffets throughout the week, a pool, and a spa. Downsides include deposits for pool towels and a charge for safes. Travelers could compare rates with H10 Blue Mar, an adult-only property with a free breakfast buffet and a gym.

H10 Blue Mar Boutique Hotel
Camino Salinar 8

The H10 Blue Mar is an upper-middle-range, adult-only hotel set just steps from the sandy beach of the small Majorcan resort of Camp de Mar. While decor in the public areas is chic and playful, guest rooms are mostly uninspiring and on the small side. However, all 101 rooms do feature sea views, Nespresso machines, and iPod docks, plus some have direct access to a terrace with daybeds. There's also an outdoor pool, but views of the water are limited. A decent breakfast buffet is free, as is use of the hotel's small spa and panoramic sun terrace. As a boutique hotel, however, facilities are a little limited. For the full, resort-style experience, travelers should check out the all-inclusive Olimarotel Gran, though it's not adult-only.

Hotel Roc Gran Camp de Mar
Avenida Gabriel Covas Alemany 2

The 412-room upscale Olimarotel Gran Camp de Mar is a large destination resort with a variety of all-inclusive options and activities for guests of all ages. This property is a quieter resort in an exclusive area, with beautiful bay views and a lovely sandy beach lined with sunbeds and palapas (for rent). Guests are required to wear ID wristbands during their stay. Rooms are small but spotless and have balconies with partial or full sea views. For a Majorca property with a more intimate, boutique scale, travelers could consider Melia Cala D'Or.

Niu d'Aus
Calle Estel d'Argent 18

Niu d'Aus is a small and simple three-pearl apartment complex set half way between the sleepy Porto Petro fishing village and laid-back Cala Egos resort. While part of the property underwent a makeover in 2016, the 18 one-bedroom apartments remain dated, with basic cooking facilities and spacious balconies -- many with lovely bay views. Features are limited to a small pool terrace and cafe-bar, though Wi-Fi is free throughout. Free on-site parking is useful, as most beaches and dining options are a bit of a walk away, so a car is recommended. While some enjoy the quiet, secluded vibe, the Apartamentos Parque Mar offer a comparable rate and set-up, but the property is closer to Cala d'Or resort center.

Blau Privilege PortoPetro Beach Resort & Spa
Calle Far 16

PURAVIDA Resort Blau PortoPetro is a huge luxury hotel with direct access to two small beaches, set in extensive pine-forested grounds that skirt Majorca's southeastern coastline. Its 319 homey rooms are spread around the vast resort, and can be far from facilities -- though golf buggies are always available. With a large spa, extensive sports and fitness activities, four swimming pools and as many restaurants, there's certainly no shortage of features -- if anything, it can all be a little overwhelming. Despite the resort's size, numbers can swell during conferences, and breakfast (which is usually excellent) can be prone to overcrowding. There is lots for the kids to do, making this a popular pick with families, though pricey dining can quickly add to the overall cost. For a more intimate upscale experience (with an all-inclusive option) consider the Melia Cala D'Or just up the coast.
