Hotel Terramar
Passeig Cypsela 1

The stylish, three-pearl Hotel Terramar sits across a street from the beach in the heart of Llafranc's sleepy village. Views are beautiful from sea-facing terraces, and likewise from some of the 53 rooms. The breezy rooms are brightly outfitted in nautical blues and whites, as well as flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, safes, and balconies. Away from crowds, yet right downtown, the peaceful beach setting draws leisure families and older couples, and many are repeat guests. A rooftop terrace provides a great sunbathing spot, but there's no pool. Food here is generally well-reviewed, and a lounge offers free tea and coffee. If a pool is a deal-breaker, check out Hotel Blau Mar, although it's pricier.

Hotel BlauMar Llafranch
Carrer De Farena 36

Glistening Mediterranean views are blissful from the upper-middle-range Hotel BlauMar, which occupies a hilltop spot a short walk from Llafranc's blue bay. Couples come here for peace and quiet in refined surroundings, and impeccable sea-facing terraces around an outdoor pool provide just that. The 20 rooms have country-chic charm, as well as balconies or terraces with gorgeous views, flat-screen TVs, minibars, and elegant bathrooms. The free buffet breakfast is well-reviewed, and the bar's meals are especially popular outdoors. Travelers looking for somewhere more central should consider Hotel Terramar, which lacks a pool, but is right on the beach.

Hotel Ronda Figueres
Avda Salvador Dali 17, Antigua Ronda Barcelona, 104
Hotel Mas Lazuli
Carretera de Rosas
Hotel Aiguablava
Platja de Fornells s/n

Hotel Aigua Blava is an 85-room, mid-range hotel located on a rocky hillside overlooking Aiguablava Bay. The property features many on-site activities -- including tennis courts, several bars, a playground, and a small fitness center -- but the highlights here are the tasty (but pricey) restaurant, and the saltwater pool, both offering great ocean views. Rooms are nice enough overall, with large windows and solid amenities such as flat-screen TVs, minibars, and free Wi-Fi. A few, however, are a tad dated and bland. The location -- within walking distance of two small beaches and a short drive to several historic towns -- makes it a good pick for beach-goers and culture buffs alike.

Aiguaclara Hotel
Carrer Sant Miquel, 2

Aiguaclara is a lovely historic boutique located in the center of Begur. Dotted with antiques, original mid-19th century architectural features, and tons of funky details, the property oozes character and charm. Its 10 rooms have tasteful unique decor, large windows (some opening onto a balcony or terrace), free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs. There’s a relaxing patio and lounge with an honesty bar, and a solid restaurant that’s known for hosting lively music nights. Boutique-y touches such as free beach towels and toys, and free loaner DVDs, are perks that make guests feel like they’re visiting a friend’s house.
