Silver Beach Hotel is a three-pearl beach resort located in Trou d'eau Douce on the east coast of Mauritius. The main features are the buffet restaurant with adjacent bar and terrace, the small lagoon-shaped pool, and the long stretch of white-sand beach set up with loungers and umbrellas. Clunky green furnishings make the hotel's 60 rooms appear past their prime, but all units come with air-conditioning, mini-fridges, electric kettles with free coffee and tea, and balconies or terraces -- many of which face the ocean. (No in-room Wi-Fi, though.) The rest of Silver Beach's interiors are old-fashioned, as well, but this doesn't bother most guests as they are here for the pretty beachfront location, the laid-back atmosphere, and the all-inclusive value. The next-door Friday Attitude has modern style, a spa, and sometimes slightly lower rates, but it lacks Silver Beach's boathouse.
