Just like in the movies: NYC hotels featured in our favorite romantic comedies
-
The Plaza
- Average Price: $528/night
- Pearls: 5
- Location: Midtown East, New York City
Does it get more romantic than this? We don't think so, which explains why The Plaza is the ultimate romantic-comedy hotel. Jane Fonda and Robert Redford play newlyweds in 1967's Barefoot in the Park -- the couple honeymoons in the lavish hotel, before returning to their tiny, fifth-floor walk-up (laughter ensues). The Plaza also makes a cameo appearance in Sleepless in Seattle(in our top-five of romantic comedies at least) and It Could Happen to You, as the site of an innocent-turned-romantic run-in between Yvonne (Bridget Fonda) and Charlie (Nicolas Cage). -
The Roosevelt
- Average Price: $251/night
- Pearls: 3.5
- Location: Midtown East, New York City
Given a fictitious name in the film,The Roosevelt is where Jennifer Lopez's character works as a maid in the aptly-titled Maid in Manhattan. Numerous scenes were filmed in the hotel and it is here where the maid meets her "prince" (in this case, a politician) played by Ralph Fiennes. -
Waldorf Astoria
- Average Price: $285/night
- Pearls: 4
- Location: Midtown East, New York City
Waldorf Astoria is the site of many near-misses between destined lovers (Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack) in the Christmas-y romantic comedy, Serendipity. The two meet at the nearby Bloomingdale's department store but head over to the hotel to see if fate will take a hand in their relationship --they'll exchange numbers if they end up on the same floor after taking separate elevators. -
The New York Palace
- Average Price: $317/night
- Pearls: 4.5
- Location: Midtown East, New York City
The New York Palace has a cameo role in the feel-good romantic comedy 27 Dresses. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride, Jane (Katherine Heigl), rushes from one wedding at The Palace to another in Brooklyn in the same night and catches a reporter's (James Marsden) eye.

Here in New York City, occasionally we're lucky enough to spot some of our favorite movie stars hiding behind their over-sized shades (or maybe we just thought that was Sarah Jessica Parker). But there are some big-screen stars that you just can't miss on the streets of NYC -- the hotels where the movies are filmed. Since it's the season for summer lovin', we decided to share a few top hotels featured in some of our favorite romantic comedies. So grab your hometown honey and head to one of these romantic, iconic properties, pop in a movie shot right where you're staying, and get ready for a date-night you'll never forget.
